Introducing Our New Canon Law Specialism
St Padarn’s is excited to announce the launch of a Canon Law Specialism as part of their established Theology, Ministry and Misson Masters Programme validated by Durham University Common Awards
Designed for clergy, lawyers, church administrators, and anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of canon law within the context of ministry and mision. The St Padarn’s Canon Law specialism is the only postgraduate canon law programme with an Anglican focus currently on offer anywhere in the world. Described as "applied ecclesiology," this specialism will share how legal principles can enhance mission and ministry. It will contribute to the fields of ecumenism, ecclesiology, church history, and Anglican studies and allow students to develop their ministry or professional practice in the field of canon law, and gain knowledge of the way in which church communities are regulated.
Professor Canon Jeremy Duff, Principal of St Padarn’s said, “We are excited to launch this new MA Specialism in Canon Law, building on our history of hosting canon law studies over many years. It is taught by an experienced teaching team with vast knowledge in the subjects of law and religion”.
The Rt Hon Sir Robert Buckland KC added, “Both law and the Church will be richer because of this course”.
